Dear pregnant or new mother,
Imagine the joy of your tiny innocent newborn gazing trustingly into your eyes as you hold him close.
Could there be any more powerful feeling than looking deeply into your little one's dark navy blue eyes and knowing with all of your being that you are giving him or her, the absolute best beginning in life? And that right now, you are everything to your child and everything comes from you - warmth in the comfort of your arms, the security of your presence and food that is perfectly suited to your exquisitely individual baby's needs.
These are just a few of the wonderful benefits of breastfeeding for you and your baby: - Breast milk is like a daily vaccination against every bug your baby comes in contact with: it is a living fluid containing healthy bacteria, antibodies, white blood cells, antimicrobials and cell wall protectors and proteins that offer protection against bacteria and viruses. This means that you will not be spending hours, nights or weeks pacing the floor with an unhappy, unwell baby.
- If you catch a bug, specialized white blood cells will appear in your breast milk to protect your baby. Conversely, if your baby becomes sick, the transfer of germs from baby to your breast will trigger the production of specific antibodies. These antibodies will be deposited into your milk to boost your baby's immunity and help her fight off illness. This means that you can take your baby out without the stress of worrying, could my child get sick? And, even if your baby is in childcare, where he may be exposed to other children's bugs, he will be protected by the immune factors in your milk.
- In many instances, the long-term protective effects of breastfeeding are related to its duration. Children breast fed for more than six months have one-third the number of middle-ear infections in the first three years of life than formula fed babies, the incidence of allergies is reduced sevenfold, and infants are also protected against bacterial meningitis in their first five years.
- The risks of a number of serious disorders, such as coeliac disease and insulin-dependent diabetes increase when babies aren't breast fed. Your milk also protects your baby against childhood lymphoma, multiple sclerosis and chronic liver diseases.
- When you breastfeed your baby girl, you reduce her risk of developing breast cancer later in life by 25 percent. Because breastfeeding also lowers your own risk of breast cancer, you could be saving two lives!.
- Studies show significant increases in IQ of babies who are breast fed: Breastfeeding is an important source of nutrition, providing vitamins and minerals, including high levels of the brain-cell builder taurine, and fatty acids which are important for brain and eye development.
- Breastfeeding can save on orthodontic bills, as the sucking action, which is different to that of a bottle teat, enhances jaw and facial development.
- Breastfeeding is good for your own health too! Hormones released while breastfeeding cause your uterus to contract and return to pre-pregnancy size, which means you will also experience less postpartum bleeding.
- Breastfeeding delays the return of menstruation after childbirth, meaning less discomfort, reduced expense of buying sanitary products and NO premenstrual mood swings - for a while at least!
- Breastfeeding helps you lose fat stored during pregnancy more quickly which means that you will regain your pre-pregnancy shape more quickly without stringent diets. Breastfeeding is also related to a reduced incidence of obesity later in life, and conveys protection against type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, ovarian cancer and pre-menopausal breast cancer.
- Breastfeeding protects the environment: Breastfeeding saves food resources, fuel and energy - no chemicals or packaging required!
Although you know 'breast is best', you have probably heard all sorts of horror stories about breastfeeding being difficult
You may have heard of women 'losing their milk' or having difficulty getting their babies to feed. You may have had close friends tell you how they have had their breasts groped as their babies were 'shoved' onto the breast by an over zealous nurse.
Women in your own family may have told you, "I couldn't breastfeed." The unspoken part of this sentence will be a variation of, "so you probably won't be able to either."
NOW, there is no need to feel anxious about your ability to breastfeed.
You CAN enjoy breastfeeding simply, naturally and with confidence! And you can experience a beautiful close bond with your baby RIGHT NOW.
I have taught thousands of women just like you how to breastfeed in this simple, natural way, but I can't be everywhere.
In my work, I see many women who are struggling with breastfeeding problems due to inappropriate advice. These struggles are completely unnecessary when you know the secrets to Breastfeeding Simply.
This is why I have written this ebook - to give you the simple roadmap that I give my private clients, so that you too can enjoy breastfeeding and experience a beautiful bond with your newborn - right from the beginning!
Here are just some of the Amazing Secrets, Tips and Techniques that you will learn from this ebook 'Breastfeeding Simply'. - What you MUST do to prepare for breastfeeding BEFORE you have your baby. This means that you will be fully prepared and 'ahead of the game' and you won't feel confused by conflicting information or waste money on useless equipment
- Comfortable positions to hold your baby while nursing so that breastfeeding feels natural, discreet and easy. You will feel confident enough to begin breastfeeding without having to depend on busy hospital staff to supervise your every move.
- How to latch your baby onto the breast in the best position. A good latch can prevent early breastfeeding problems such as sore nipples or insufficient milk
- Secrets to establishing and maintaining an abundant milk supply. This means that you will not have to worry, is my baby getting enough milk? And you will be able to continue breastfeeding as long as you choose.
- How to express, store and thaw your breast-milk, simply, safely and hygienically. Then, if you do need to be separated from your baby, you know she will not be exposed to the risks of artificial baby formula such as allergies, constipation or increased risks of illness such as diarrhea or respiratory infections.
- How to recognize and treat conditions that may contribute to painful breastfeeding such as nipple thrush or mastitis - quickly and easily, so that breastfeeding isn't interrupted or ended prematurely.
- Practical strategies for managing breastfeeding if you return to paid employment - from choosing and instructing a caregiver and gaining support at your workplace, to maintaining your milk supply. This means that you will be able to maintain your very special connection with your baby through the one thing (breastfeeding) that nobody else can do for your child, even if you do have to leave her with a caretaker.
- How alcohol affects your breast-milk and your baby. You will also learn what precautions to take so that your baby receives 'safe' milk and is safely cared for if you do choose to drink alcohol while you are breastfeeding.
- How to wean your baby gently and gradually, with love. This way your baby will make the transition easily and you will not experience painful engorgement or the sadness to either of you, of ending such a special relationship abruptly and painfully.
